Excursions include, but are not limited to, snow shoe trails, horse back riding, guided naturalist activities, fishing guides, canoes, and motored boats for your pleasure. The lodge is affiliated with the Gunflint Trail Nordic Ski System consisting of nearly 200 km of groomed ski trails just waiting for your arrival. Conveniently found in the main lodge are the obliging front desk, trendy gift store, and accommodating lounge with a cozy dining room. Just next store, the conference center is at the guests’ disposal for various purposes including high speed internet access. Distinctively, almost all log cabins have a lovely view of the lake. Fireplaces are featured in all cabins and please inquire about the cabins with saunas, hot tubs and washer/dryers. As there is no cable television, VCR’s are provided in the cabins with a complimentary and extensive movie collection.

Northern Minnesota is home to the famous Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness - the largest canoeing wilderness in the United States. There are over 1,000 clear water lakes in this million-plus acre wilderness. The Gunflint Trail (a 60-mile paved road) is in the Laurentian Highlands, with hundreds of deep rocky lakes scoured out by the glaciers
centuries ago. Some of the waters flow to the Atlantic and some to the Arctic. This area has the finest lake trout fishing in mid-America and is home to a significant moose population.

The Gunflint Trail area offers a variety of disbursed canoe entry points, so canoeists can get into the wilderness quickly and without going down long and busy entry lakes. In addition, you have the scenic beauty of the North Shore Drive along Lake Superior as you come north to the Gunflint from Minneapolis/St. Paul or Duluth.

Our professional massage therapist is ready to sooth away your stress and get you on the way to
a relaxing vacation. Jenny uses Swedish massage techniques and offers either ½ or full hour massages. Massages are available by appointment and we encourage you to reserve them when you make your
initial reservation.

We offer three basic types of accommodations: Classic Cabins, Gunflint Lake Homes, and Romantic
Cottages. You are invited to be our guest on one of our many packages, and you may choose the
cabin type you prefer, or you may rent the cabin on a housekeeping basis without any package
format.

 Classic Cabins   These are all situated along the shore of Gunflint Lake and they all feature wood
burning fireplaces, plush bedding and linen, some with a private sauna, and a VCR and CD music
systems. All have a kitchen or kitchenette with a refrigerator, and a few are equipped with a washer and dryer. They vary from one to four bedrooms in size, and all the cabins with two bedrooms or more have
at least two full bathrooms.

  Gunflint Lake Homes   These cabins have most of the comforts of home, and then some. These luxurious lakeside cabins feature rock fireplaces, a private sauna, well appointed kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator, washer and dryer, DVD player, CD music systems, a patio or deck with grill and a multi person whirlpool spa. These cabins vary from two to four bedrooms in size, with a private bath for each bedroom.

  Romantic Cottages   Designed with comfort and romance in mind. Cozy one bedroom lakeside cabins
feature a stone fireplace, two person spa, well appointed kitchen, washer and dryer, DVD player,
CD music system, steam shower, and a deck with grill.

Pow Wow Lodge: A large lake home with 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, a huge rock fireplace, full kitchen, 3 season BBQ area, back yard patio, lake porch, social room, and a garage. This comes with wireless wi-fi and satellite television. It is an ideal home for families, or for a womens group. There is sleeping for up to 10 people.

Jacques Cabin (cabin #3) Back many years ago Florence and Lee Jacques spent the winter with
us writing and illustrating for their upcoming books and dioramas in major museums. This cabin
oozes with the history of Gunflint going all the way back to 1928, and at this point it is the oldest
remaining cabin at the resort. You will be very comfortable in this cabin, but it best fits guests that
like an historic building.

Canoer Cabins Bunkhouse style accommodations ranging in size from 4 to 6 beds, cold running water for the sinks and toilets, basic furniture. A small fridge is also included in the Canoer Cabins. Complete bathroom facilities are available in the nearby main outfitters building. Charcoal cooking grills are available in the nearby pavilion. (Available May through September)

Rustic Cabins Private bunkhouse units (several units per building) ranging in size from 4 to 9 bunk beds. Complete bathroom facilities are available in the nearby main outfitters building. Charcoal cooking grills are available in the nearby pavilion. (Available May through September)
