Indian Summer in the northwoods brings to mind nice sunny days, cool clear evenings, the migrating birds, the calling loons, and the brilliant colors of the changing leaves. The aspen contribute their gold colors, the maple the deep reds, the birch and tamarack the yellows, and all the greens from the balsam, spruce and pines. We all consider this one of the nicest times of the year in the north lands.
It is a fun time to play a bit -- the hiking , with crunchy leaves underfoot, is some of the best of the year. A picnic lunch matches up with a day trip paddling along a wilderness lake, and evenings around your cabin fireplace finishes the day off nicelly. If you can stay awake long enough you might step outside after dark to see if the northern lights are blazing across the northern skies, or if the wolves are howling to the moon.
Includes: 4 nights accommodations in a lakeside fireplace cabin, breakfasts and dinners each day, canoes, kayaks, a 1 hour horseback ride (this can be traded out for a trip on the Towring Pines Canopy Tour), and all our guided naturalist activities and hiking trails.
