Special Dog Mushing Weekends are planned during 3 weekends of the winter. You can fill your days with a combination of dog sledding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. (2 dog sled rides on a 3 night package, 3 rides on a 4 night package).
The dog sled rides travel through the back basin or out on the lake, depending on the snow and ice conditions. We mix them up for the weekend if at all possible. This weekend we bring in additional teams and mushers to augment our regular program, so we can have multiple rides going at any one time. On your second or third rides
you are invited to take a turn at being the musher if you are up to the adventure (our musher is still with you as a passenger in the sled)……shades of Jack London and adventures of the far north. Your cross country skiing can be enjoyed on a series of nicely groomed trails. We have about 75 km, mostly with double tracks (a couple for skate skiing and one pet friendly). Many of them start right behind our activity center. In
addition, we have dedicated snowshoe trails taking you through the heavy forest into thick cedar swamps, up aspen hillsides and out on overlooks.

Includes: 3 or 4 nights accommodations in a lakeside fireplace cabin, all meals, dog sled rides (either a total of 2 or 3 rides), cross country skis and snowshoes, plus several guided naturalist activities. Taxes and ski passes are additional.
