Both the Minnesota and Canadian Lake Trout season will be open and we have some of the best lake trout fishing lakes in the Midwest. Our lakes are deep and rocky and lake trout are a native species in our lakes. Here on Gunflint we regularly catch trout from 3 to 10 pounds and it is usually fairly easy to catch your limit each day.
To go with the lake trout fishing you also have walleye, smallmouth bass and northern, so when you fill out on one species you can switch over to something else.
Includes: 4 nights in a lakeside fireplace cabin, all meals (including packed lunches if you want to be out for the day), boat with upholstered seats, motor, gas, minnow bucket, one guided day of fishing, fish filleting and freezing. Taxes and guide tips are additional.
To fish our border waters with the most choices, you will need a Remote Border Crossing Permit from Ontario. You should allow 4-6 weeks for this permit to be received after you submit your application. The information on this is available at: www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publiclications/forms-formulaires/bsf386-eng.pdf. You will also need your passport if you travel to/from Canada.
