We have just built a new cooking area outside, adjacent to
the lodge patio and we are all excited about sharing it with
you. There are three cooking areas—a huge brick baking
oven for breads, pizzas, onion soup, casseroles, roasts, turkeys,
etc; a large fire pit for cooking walleye shore lunches, steaks,
hushpuppies, burgers, etc; and lastly we have a new BBQ
pit that we have acquired from the blacksmith guy down in
Missouri (it is all handmade).
During our cooking week we will be using all three of these
resources multiple times, as we teach you how to create some
gourmet creations with fairly simple cooking techniques.
Bruce will share with you some of his smoking techniques,
Don-our food and beverage manager, will teach you some
open fire cooking skills, and one of our chefs will teach you
how to cook in a brick oven, producing enough fresh hot
bread to serve the entire dining room.
Includes: 4 nights accommodations, all meals, 3 cooking
lessons, canoes, kayaks, hiking trails and guided naturalist
