It’s mostly play — and a little work — on these weekends. The projects don’t require any
special skill, just a willing hand and a smile or two. In the fall, we stack firewood, put a few things into winter storage, set up additional feeders for the birds, and do the kind of
chores that will get the lodge, cabins, and grounds ready for winter. In the spring, we rake, wash windows, wax floors, plant (if the weather is right), stack wood, and do the kind of chores that will get the lodge, cabins, and grounds ready for summer. We typically work from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; the rest of the weekend is yours to spend as you please — hike, explore the woods, relax in your private sauna or spa, or just curl up with a good book and watch the birds at the feeder outside your cabin.
