Wild Winter Adventure Package

Jan 1- Mar 31

Dog sledding, skiing and snowshoeing for snow lovers
(or wanna-be snow lovers)

Winter along the Gunflint Trail is a different world than either summer on the Trail or winter in the city. If you've not been to our backyard when it's covered in sparkling white, you're missing out! It doesn't get any better.

This package is for adventure lovers of all ages. You'll find new reasons to love winter beyond just the beauty. Take full advantage of the many activities only available in places like ours that receive a healthy dumping of snow each year.

The dog sled rides will take you up into the back basin past Lonely Lake, or the high ridges to our south. Your first ride will be an hour long. On your second, longer ride you'll have the option to try your hand at mushing the team an unforgettable experience!

Dedicated snowshoe trails go through thick cedar swamps and stands of paper birch. You won't be sharing the trails with skiers, dog sleds or snowmobiles just you and the solitude.

Over 75 km of beautifully-groomed trails await you for your cross country skiing. The trails will take you through a mature pine and aspen forest and up into the highlands with scenic overlooks.

The Wild Winter Adventure package includes: four nights accommodations in a lakeside fireplace cabin, all meals, ski and snowshoe rentals, guided naturalist trips, and two dog sled rides.

Dear Bruce and Sue

Thank you so very much for a wonderful (if brief) stay. Lovely cabin in a lovely setting.

The staff people are very kind and helpful. We were lucky and thrilled to meet you and your wife. Our dinners were scrumptious! Loved the walleye chowder, too.

The dog sled rides were so much fun! Adam does a fine job handling the dogs--and telling us bits about the dogs-- and dog sledding in general.

We wish we could have stayed longer--but this was a gift from my children. A great and fun surprise.

Thanks again, Flo Gibson

Thank You! The peace and quiet was what we needed. No internet, cell phones or tv to prevent us from relaxing and enjoying all the amazing wildlife. We loved hiking the trails and feeding all the animals. The staff was so pleasant . We took 10 years to return but we won't wait another 10 years to come back again. Stacey and Duane V. 12/13
