Canoeing & Outfitting

Gunflint Outfitters and Gunflint Lodge, provide top notch service that no other BWCA outfitter can provide.  Our full-service resort is to your disposal for you to take advantage of our offerings.  Treat yourself to a delicious “Last Supper” the night before you head out, enjoy a  hearty breakfast before you head out on your wilderness adventure, or cap off your trip with a delicious, mouth-watering meal at Justine’s.  We aim to make your trip the best it can possibly be.

With over 90 years in the business, our committed and knowledgeable staff will take you through each step of the way, from your first phone call to discuss what kind of a BWCA experience you would like to have,  to transporting you to any entry point on this side of the BWCA to picking you up at your takeout point.   Whether you are a novice canoer or an expert wilderness traveler, Gunflint Outfitters is the foremost outfitter on the Gunflint Trail and we can meet all of your needs.

We are located on a border lake (Canada is across the lake!) adjacent to the famed Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness , so you have the choice of several nearby canoe routes to explore and paddle. Our expert outfitters will take the time to learn from you what your skill level is and what kind of a trip you would like to do (travel every day, catch fish, base camp, see wildlife. . .). This kind of one on one service will ensure a BWCA trip that you will remember for a lifetime!
