In late September the forest is bursting with beautiful reds, golds, yellows, and greens as we reach the peak of Indian Summer. The days are a bit cooler and the bugs almost non-existent, making it the perfect season for trekking in the woods.
Our Naturalists will guide you on a variety of hikes out into the forest to their favorite color spots. Some of these hikes will come out on scenic overlooks, while others will go through thick cedar swamps or up on the aspen highlands. We’ll mix it up — some on the short and easy side, one or two a bit longer. Weather permitting, fall color paddles and boat rides may also be included. You’ll not want to forget your camera this weekend! Besides the autumn hues you may be fortunate enough to spot a local moose, fox or bear too. In between your hikes, you’re welcome to take a canoe out onto the lake for a different view, and we’ll even include use of a boat and motor while you’re here. Throw in a line or just enjoy a relaxing paddle.
After your dinner in the Lodge, you can return to your beautiful cabin or lake home to enjoy the cozy fireplace, and maybe a sauna or hot tub.
