A few days up north in late June is a great way to recharge your batteries and prepare yourself for the upcoming 4th of July parties at home or in your community.
Up here you can relax and listen to the wind in the trees and the calling loons. Our boreal song birds provide your background music. In our neighborhood you’re more likely to see wildlife than other people.
Miles of hiking trails await you (they start right behind our outfitters building), with gorgeous views of both scenic vistas and some of the summer’s best wild flowers. Take along a picnic lunch to enjoy at a wilderness campsite, and maybe feed crumbs to a friendly squirrel or chipmunk.
Multiple wilderness lakes are close by if you’re up for a day trip in a boat or canoe. Or paddle around right on Gunflint Lake in one of our canoes, kayaks or stand-up boards. Throw in a fishing line, sit by the lake or join one of the guided naturalist activities.
You’ll be staying in one of our beautiful lakeside cabins with a fireplace, full kitchen and bathroom. When you’re in-between adventuring or relaxing, your meals will be waiting for you up at the lodge.
